Safety

Roof work safety Roof work safety is paramount for every single job we take on at Raincoat Roofing. We are focused on performing every job safely for the benefit of each of our employees and for the sake of all of our customers. We follow all industry standards and OSHA guidelines for roof work safety. Here's a sample of some of the comprehensive roof work safety practices we follow on every job:

  • Tie-off. Every time a worker has to perform elevated work, and this occurs very frequently in the roofing industry, that person must wear a fall arrest system and tie off. Tie- offs are required for both steep slope and flat roofs as falling hazards exist no matter how steep or flat the roof may be.
  • Housekeeping. A major source of injuries in the home and on the job is slips, trips, and falls. Roof work safety puts a paramount on keeping the work site clean since a simple trip can lead to a dangerous fall. We pick up any tripping hazards including tools, electric cords, roofing materials, and any other loose items.
  • Temporary cleats and toe holds. We install temporary jacks on every roof that we work on. These temporary jacks do not damage the underlying roof but provide a toe hold for roof work safety even on a steeply sloped roof.
  • Slippery conditions are especially dangerous for roofing work. The weather does not always cooperate with a work schedule so roof work safety requires provisions for working on slippery surfaces when it cannot be avoided. Our roofers wear slip resistant boots and work to keep roof surfaces and materials dry from morning dew and precipitation.

At the end of the day, roof work safety is essential. Every employee should go home in the same condition that they came to work in the morning.
