Published: October 12, 2011
New sustainable building products were on display at the Greenbuild 2011 International Conference and Expo held last week in Toronto, including an innovative, factory-built modular medical clinic erected inside the Metro Toronto Convention Center.
Some of the new products:
CertainTeed: Adagio Fiberglass/Mineral Fiber Ceilings. Adagio High CAC ceilings by CertainTeed offer enhanced acoustics for increased patient privacy, compliant with HIPAA, GLBA regulations.
Sherwin-Williams: Pro Industrial Zero VOC Acrylic. Virtually odorless acrylic with no VOCs, superior stain and corrosion resistance, fast drying, flows to a smooth finish and is GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality Certified.
Dow Corning: Dow Corning 758 Silicone Weather Barrier Sealant. Dow Corning 758 has excellent unprimed adhesion to a wide range of materials, including polymeric surfaces that are traditionally difficult to adhere to, such as peel and stick weather resistant barriers.
Dri-Design with VM Zinc: The patented, maintenance free Dri-Design wall panel system uses no extraneous material, is 100 percent recyclable and requires no sealants, gaskets or tapes.
Excel: XLERATOR dries hands in 10-15 seconds, uses 80 percent less energy than conventional dryers, represents a 95 percent cost savings versus paper towels and qualifies for LEED credits.
DuPont: Corian solid surface. In addition to contributing to sustainable design through the use of recycled resin content, DuPont Corian solid surface, when properly cleaned, does not support the growth of mold or mildew.
Syntheon: Elemix Concrete Additive. Engineered for sustainability, Elemix additive creates lightweight concrete with improved physical characteristics in every way that matters—resistance to cracking and fire, ease of placement, and durability to freezing and thawing.
CertainTeed: Sustainable Insulation. Sustainable Insulation helps ensure cost-effective temperature control throughout any facility, regardless of configuration. It exceeds California's strict indoor air quality requirements and features an organic binder.
